Hi

EC2 is now released, and I still don't see avaibility zones in Europe :

# ec2-describe-availability-zones
AVAILABILITYZONE        us-east-1a      available
AVAILABILITYZONE        us-east-1b      available
AVAILABILITYZONE        us-east-1c      available

Any info on plans for Europe would be welcome !

I would also like to know when the Availability Zones outside of the US will become available. All the website information talks about multiple zones including the US. But only offered US zones when I try to start an EC2 Instance

It's been almost  six months. Still no response to list of available zones in Europe, West coast USA, and Asia?

For some reason this article doesn't mention european availability zones but they are there:

C:\>ec2-describe-availability-zones
AVAILABILITYZONE        us-east-1a      available       us-east-1
AVAILABILITYZONE        us-east-1b      available       us-east-1
AVAILABILITYZONE        us-east-1c      available       us-east-1

C:\>ec2-describe-availability-zones --region eu-west-1
AVAILABILITYZONE        eu-west-1a      available       eu-west-1
AVAILABILITYZONE        eu-west-1b      available       eu-west-1

Amazon added a new availability zone in the US region on June 10 2009.

$ ec2-describe-availability-zones
AVAILABILITYZONE    us-east-1a    available    us-east-1
AVAILABILITYZONE    us-east-1b    available    us-east-1
AVAILABILITYZONE    us-east-1c    available    us-east-1
AVAILABILITYZONE    us-east-1d    available    us-east-1
