I created my own ami with a configured instance of this one. When I launch it, the listener don't start... it get stuck. The reason is that the listener.ora contains the old host name. I have to manually change it every time.

I run an instance of this AMI and try to import the database dump I have created locally. However imp utility does not work complaining as following:

$ /usr/lib/oracle/xe/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/server/bin/imp
Message 100 not found; No message file for product=RDBMS, facility=IMP: Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Production on Wed Mar 25 15:34:15 2009

Verify that ORACLE_HOME is properly set
Import terminated unsuccessfully
IMP-00000: Message 0 not found; No message file for product=RDBMS, facility=IMProot@domU-12-31-39-03-CC-56:[/usr/dump]

What is your suggestion?

one way to fix this is to run sed and replace the text (for example localhost) with your ip address. you can run sed by creating oracle as a service and calling this in start.
