The AWS Management Console does not seem to offer switching regions and zones. So how would one e.g. launch a new instance in Europe from a public image?

Replying to myself:

Apparently my question was taken serious ;-)  Great!

The AWS Management Console now features a drop-down in the top left, which offers the choice of US-East and EU-west.

Thanks chaps.
regards georg, up for moving AMI images from US to EU (shame, that this still requires manual work);
