SQL Anywhere includes advanced features such as immediate refresh materialized views, dynamic cache sizing, snapshot isolation, built-in full text indexing, row-level locking, online backups, event scheduling, and remote data access to other RDBMS. It also includes a comprehensive set of tools that allow administration, modeling, debugging, monitoring, and profiling of the database.

Getting Started with this AMI
This section will discuss the following:
- When you create your AMI instance, you will get a new Windows
Administrator password.
- When you launch your AMI instance the first time, you will be
prompted to accept the Sybase SQL Anywhere license agreement.
Accept the license and you will be authorized to run SQL Anywhere.
- The AMI has been installed with the SQL Anywhere demo
database. Start it up like this: Start...All Programs...SQL
Anywhere 11...SQL Anywhere...Network Server Sample. Start Sybase
Central to connect to and administer the database: Start...All
Programs...SQL Anywhere 11... Sybase Central.
- If you want to create a database on the file system of the AMI,
create it on the D: drive. If you want to create a database on a
raw device, see the following to learn how to use Amazon Web Services
