This 32-bit Windows AMI has been installed with Sybase Replication Server 15.2 Evaluation Edition. Replication Server moves and synchronizes data across the enterprise to meet a host of competing challenges in the enterprise, such as heterogeneous data replication and synchronization, real-time reporting, and disaster recovery and high availability. This allows businesses to comply with increasingly rigid industry regulations, remove risk from their distributed enterprise environments, and leverage existing investments of acquired assets.

Getting Started with this AMI
If you are a new user of the Amazon EC2 environment, we recommend one of three options for getting started. Please note the following about this particular AMI.
- While there is no charge for use of the Sybase software, you will be billed by Amazon for running the AMI and for storage.
- When you create your AMI instance, you will get a new Windows Administrator password.
- A replication server is designed to auto-start when the AMI is booted
- When you launch your AMI instance the first time, you will be prompted to accept the Sybase Developer Edition license agreement. With acceptance, you will be licensed for development use only.
- Sybase Central is installed and there is a link to it on the desktop
- The sample RepServer is registered within Sybase Central (it's called DEMORS, and uses an embedded database for the RSSD), The administrator user id is 'sa', with no password.
- Sybase Central has been installed / configured so you can use it to manage the database
- The RepServer (and eRSSD) are designed to listen on the 'localhost' network interface (they had to be so that the RS could even build). You must alter the sql ini file in order to replicate data in and out of the AMI.
- RepServer manager is installed, but it's not currently built. This is an option for the user.
