Description
S3Fox Organizer is a firefox extension that helps you manage/organize the files/folders in your S3 account.  Its interface is very much similar to the FTP interface, it lists local folders in the left panel and S3 buckets/files/folders in the right panel. Files/folders can be moved from the local computer to Amazon's storage space and vice versa. Key features include:

1. Easy and fast installation
2. User friendly interface to upload & download folders/files
3. Ability to create multiple accounts
4. Convenient handling of file/folder permissions (ACLs)
5. Easy installation of the new updates to the extension

Unfortunately, the program sometimes hangs after uploading. It isn't possible to move files remotely, i.e. to transfer remote files from one directory to another.

Very good for the first release. A bit slow. All possibilities to manage your objects: view, upload, download, delete. I will test it on linux box. Seems I don't need to rewrite my upload script.

Nice and 'lightweight' solution (if you're a 'Foxy' user).

Easy to install and use indeed!, Nov 17, 2006 11:01 AM

Installing and using S3Fox Organizer is a breeze. After installing, I successfully uploaded several 3MB MP3 files within minutes, and adjusted their ACLs. One thing that seems missing is the ability to define meta-data.

worked great, but one question: does it encrypt the access key/secret access key?

One may argue about the fact that an S3 file handling tool requires a web browser as host application. However, the whole thing works pretty well. There's some usability fine tuning needed in my eyes, this Firefox add-on still appears a bit like a proof-of-concept. But as long as there's no better alternative around, it can be highly recommended to all FF/S3 users!

Good only for small file sets, May 28, 2008 12:00 AM

Works fine for limited number of files. Problems: - hangs when number of folders is large (over 2,000) - can't delete a folder/sub-folder, with files. To delete a folder you need first to delete all the files in the folder. Alex

On several computers I have experienced that Firefox (2.0.0.14) hangs when I tries to delete files and folders on the remote site.
