  • Added additional kernel modules
     - fuse.ko        => CONFIG_FUSE_FS=m
     - relayfs        => CONFIG_RELAYFS_FS=m
     - binfmt_aout.ko => CONFIG_BINFMT_AOUT=m
     - xfrm_user.ko   => CONFIG_XFRM_USER=m
  • Added fuse related packages

  • Built with ec2-ami-tools >= 7221 resulting in improved launch times.
  • Disabled the following boot time services:

I notice from mail to root (Logwatch) there is a successful root login from

dsl-240-91-229.telkomadsl.co.za

and other activity (this appears in the second message below)

I found the same in my Ruby on Rails starter image. At first I was concerned and then I saw the access dates.
