Developer Connection Tip: Receiving AWS Release Notifications & Administrative Announcements

To ensure that you are immediately notified with new releases and important information regarding the use of Amazon Web Services, please use the e-mail watch and RSS feed features in the Developer Connection.

Receiving AWS Release Notifications
AWS creates a release note in the Developer Connection Resource Center each time a release of a web service occurs. As a developer, the best way to learn about new releases immediately when they occur is by setting an e-mail watch on the service’s "Release Notes" category, or by subscribing to its RSS feed.

Example: Subscribing to Amazon ECS release notes

(1) From the Developer Connection home page, or under the "Resource Center" tab in the navigation, find the "Amazon ECS" category on the page, and click on the associated "Release Notes" link.

(2) Once in Release Notes:

Click on "Watch Category" at the right of the page to receive an e-mail notification when new Release Notes are posted.
(Note: you must be logged in to do this).

OR

To be notified via an RSS feed when this occurs, click on the orange "RSS" button towards the bottom right, and select the "Latest Documents" icon under the "RSS URL" column to get the URL for the feed.

Receiving RSS feeds for Administrative Announcements
For other important information that AWS would like to communicate broadly to developers, AWS will post an Announcement in the relevant discussion forum(s).

Service-specific announcements will always be posted in the relevant service forum(s), and AWS-wide announcements are posted at the Global Developer Forums level.

We highly recommend that you subscribe to Announcements at both levels to ensure that you receive key notifications.

Example: Subscribing to Global and Amazon ECS Announcement RSS feeds
1) From the forums home page (http://aws.amazon.com/forums), click on "RSS Feeds" in the top right-hand corner.

2) Click on "Forums RSS Feeds"

3) Here you will see a list of all possible feeds you can receive for the forums. Click on the megaphone icon (representing Announcements) to the right of the "Global Feeds" row, and for "Forum: Amazon E-Commerce Service". These will take you to the feeds' URLs.
